Pathik Hotel - http://www.chiangdao.com/hotels4/asiahotels/indiahotels/rajasthanhotels/pathikhotel.htm This hotel is government approved and is a good choice for its convenient location and discounted price. Both the bus station and the train station are within walking distance of the hotel. The rooms are cozy and clean which is important in an Indian hotel. There is only one restaurant in this small property but it serves Indian and Rajasthani cuisine along with a few international dishes. The decoration style was modern when it was opened but now it seems more retro although things work fairly well and it is cleaner than many other hotels. - [Pathik Hotel]
Surajgarh Fort Hotel - http://www.chiangdao.com/hotels4/asiahotels/indiahotels/rajasthanhotels/surajgarhforthotel.htm This was converted from a fort into a boutique hotel: this place has 11 rooms for guests and is charmingly decorated with period pieces. Near the hotel are several forts and small palaces from the 18th and 19th century. The small size means staff can be more attentive to guests and their needs. One thing not to miss when staying here is the Rajasthani folk dances, camel and horse rides, the traditional sit-down dinner, but most importantly the puppet shows. They are really impressive. For a hotel as small as this it is impressive that it maintains a pool for guests. This place looks and feels exactly like a fort from a couple hundred years ago. Take camel ride before you leave, and don't forget to shop for the bangles and silver jewelry the area is famous for. - [Surajgarh Fort Hotel]
Sara Vilas Hotel - http://www.chiangdao.com/hotels4/asiahotels/indiahotels/rajasthanhotels/saravilashotel.htm This property was designed and built to recreate the regal and stately architecture of a former time. There are several palaces, and temples to see nearby, while the hotel can arrange for folk performances. The gardens are beautifully landscaped, the fountains are lovely, and the pavilions are impressive. Walking around this place feels like a walk back in time to when the city was ruled by kings. There are 60 villas and 4 suites and all have unobstructed views from their individual balconies. The pool is nice and it is particularly enjoyable to have a meal at the poolside restaurant. - [Sara Vilas Hotel]
Castle Mandawa Hotel - http://www.chiangdao.com/hotels4/asiahotels/indiahotels/rajasthanhotels/castlemandawahotel.htm Built in 1755 and converted into a hotel in 1980 and decorated with ancestral portraits, this hotel is an excellent gem of cultural heritage. From the castle, guests can take a walking tour of several nearby castles, in addition to exploring the hotel. No two rooms are exactly alike in this living piece of history. There are women's quarters which have a marble fountain and the turret room has walls that the staff claim are seven feet thick and were designed to keep out marauding thieves which were a real problem back in the day. The family motto of the original inhabitants was appropriate, and it read “the brave shall inherit the earth”. - [Castle Mandawa Hotel]

The Kuchaman Fort Hotel - http://www.chiangdao.com/hotels4/asiahotels/indiahotels/rajasthanhotels/thekuchamanforthotel.htm Staying 1000 feet above the town in a fort where little has changed since the raja himself stayed here, minus the elephants. The entrance to the fort is at the bottom of the steep hill so guests have to be transported in a jeep to the living quarters. A few hundred years ago they made the trip on elephant back. The fort has amazing ramparts, innumerable terraces and balconies. The views of the town stretching out before you, particularly in the evening are to be cherished. The place also has a swimming pool. There is plenty to do in town such as handicrafts shopping and exploring, but the main draw to this town is a chance to stay at this fort. - [The Kuchaman Fort Hotel]
Udai Bilas Palace Hotel - http://www.chiangdao.com/hotels4/asiahotels/indiahotels/rajasthanhotels/udaibilaspalacehotel.htm This palace is perched on the deep blue waters of Lake Gaibsagar and it looks exactly as it did back in the days of the raja's that built it. It is the epitome of old world princely Indian charm. Guests can visit the Old Palace, but because it is still owned by the family it can only be viewed on invitation. There are only 22 rooms and they are all interesting but they do vary a bit so it makes sense to visit a couple before making a selection. Zenana Chowk is the dining area, which guests prefer for its buffet breakfasts and dinners. - [Udai Bilas Palace Hotel]
